Rotten Tomatoes Score: 69% - 13 Reviews - 5. 71/10 Average Score Rotten Tomatoes Critics Consensus: N/A Metacritic Score: 53/100 - 9 Reviews - "Mixed or average reviews" The Hollywood Reporter Featuring a stellar ensemble cast headed by Matthew McConaughey, Hugh Grant, Charlie Hunnam, Michelle Dockery and Colin Farrell, Ritchie's homecoming is a fairly familiar affair, but also refreshingly funny and deftly plotted, with more witty lines and less boorish machismo than his early work. TheWrap Ritchie may not be exploring uncharted territory, but you can bet it was more fun to make The Gentlemen than it was to make “Aladdin” or “King Arthur: Legend of the Sword. ” It’s more fun to watch “The Gentleman” than those films, too. Empire What it lacks in freshness and depth, The Gentlemen certainly makes up for in cartoon-y bluster and fun details. The Telegraph The Gentlemen is a valiant, often raucous bid to drag the tried-and-true old Ritchie formula into the present, and while the result feels like he got about as far as 2005 – with lip-service acknowledgements of grime music and YouTube – for the purposes of this film, it’s close enough Indiewire Visually unexceptional when it’s not plain squalid, shameless in its bid for a sequel, The Gentlemen is the film Britain deserves as it staggers backwards into the New Year under the questionable influence of an unabashedly populist leader. Screen Daily The Gentlemen is a disposable crime caper on autopilot. Propped up by an all-star ensemble, particularly the sturdy Charlie Hunnam and scene-stealer Colin Farrell, Guy Ritchie reclaims the genre that brought him to fame but does little more than shuffle battered parts into an intermittently entertaining configuration Variety The actors, splendidly kitted out in autumnal suiting and knitwear by costume designer Michael Wilkinson, have what fun they can with such thin, dated material, but everyone here deserves better. Total Film Ritchie makes a solid return to his wheelhouse with a crime yarn that turns the air so blue you can swim in it. Plot: The Gentlemen follows American expat Mickey Pearson (Matthew McConaughey) who built a highly profitable marijuana empire in London. When word gets out that he's looking to cash out of the business forever it triggers plots, schemes, bribery and blackmail in an attempt to steal his domain out from under him. Director: Guy Ritchie (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, Sherlock Holmes, Aladdin) Release Date: 1 January 2020 Starring: Matthew McConaughey Charlie Hunnam Michelle Dockery Jeremy Strong Colin Farrell Henry Golding Runtime: 1h 53min.

Has there ever been a bad performance in a Guy Ritchie movie? If there has I haven't noticed it. He has an ornate ability to take average actors and make them great, and to take already great actors and get even more out of them. There are a few directors around who specialise in this but Ritchie is right near the top. The cast in 'The Gentlemen' is admittedly fantastic, but it doesn't change the fact that they are an absolute treat to watch. Matthew McConaughey is in his element in a role that he was born to play, Charlie Hunnam plays one of the coolest characters I've seen perfectly, Colin Farrell is hilarious and ridiculously cool as well and then Hugh Grant gives one of the best performances I've ever seen from him. In fact Grant was so good I didn't even recognise his voice and had to wonder if they'd dubbed it. They hadn't, he'd just nailed it.
The style this movie possesses is just so much fun to watch. If you've seen any of Ritchie's previous similar films ( Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Snatch. RocknRolla' then you know what I'm talking about. The pacing moves at lightning speed, the dialogue is quick, clever and deeper than you first realise and the conflict is always multi-layered. This one is actually told in quite a unique way with a couple of characters going over events that have already happened and it works masterfully. It breaks the story up and gives room for creativity in the story-telling process and also humour.
Every time I see that Ritchie has made a movie that isn't a crime-thriller I get a little disappointed. It's not that the other stuff he's doing is bad ( Swept Away' being an obvious exception) it's just that he is so damn good as this style of movie. He's the best in the business and if he only did these for the rest of his career I'd be a very happy man. This is an excellent movie well worth your time and money.

I'm really excited but that seemed like a bad trailer for a great movie.
Gangster cu stil 7.

Guys look its Jax Teller. This isn't lock stock or snatch but they are a high bar and this is still a great film. Ritchie almost made it another ten out of ten but this just lacked some of the brilliant humour and unforgettable characters of his big hits.
The film has a good plot with plenty of twists and turns, and the pace is very good. The cast of actors isn't let down and there are some brilliant performances, not least by Hugh Grant.
It is a film that warrants a second watch and it's great to see Ritchie back to near his best as he does the London Gangster movie like no one else.

Gangsteri cu stil trailer. Gangsteri cu stil song. Just finished watching The Gentlemen and have got to say I loved it. Not to say it’s without faults-but it’s a fun film that has an interesting approach to storytelling. In my opinion this keeps it interesting and doesn’t feel like just another London gangster film. The cast is great, especially Collin Farrell and Hugh grant. Hugh grants character is very entertaining (although some people may find him a little cringy). Definitely recommend seeing this if you wasn’t planning on already and would love to hear your thoughts. This was a great movie overall but Grants performance was a huge standout! I lost count of the number of times when I forgot it was him. Really brilliantly cast. Best part for me was I had no idea he was one of the leads in this when I went to the cinema. So him having just so much screen time was really surprising. Charlie Hunnam was brilliant too, especially in the 'phone chase' scene. He's been crushing it over recent years too. Go see it:) level 1 The cast of this film was so so good. Henry Golding was played completely against type and he was fantastic, Hunnam had great comic timing and was such a solid lead, and Hugh Grant had the whole cinema laughing. Easily one of the funniest films I've seen in recent memory, loved it level 1 Omg 100% agree!!!! I really enjoyed the film but for me the most enjoyable part was Hugh Grants character. It was so nice seeing him in a role like that for once, instead of the characters he usually plays. Also, I feel like with Hugh it’s kind of easy to overlook him, and also forget how good of an actor he is, bc he played the same type of part for so long. So this was really enjoyable level 1 Comment deleted by user 1 month ago ( 0 children) level 2 I’d argue that Mathew Vaughan who directed Kingsman was heavily influenced by Guy Ritchie. level 2 I consider it a more typical “Guy Ritchie” film e. g Snatch, Lock Stock. That being said I don’t believe it’s as good in terms of writing and execution, but I still thoroughly enjoyed it minus a few redundant plot points. level 2 It's nothing like Kingsmen, at all. I mean, it's British but thats about it. What similarities did you see in the trailer? level 2 What? Lol any chance you could hook me up with whatever you were smoking when you watched the trailer? One is about a secret spy organisation and the other is a gangster flick. It's like saying Snatch is a James Bond knock off.
